Also, here’s a track I recorded, inspired by working on the book, using the crackling of vinyl records as the only source material.

A 30-minute-long sound collage inspired by Kurt Schwitters’ Merzbau.
Based on recordings made in the reconstructed Merzbau at Sprengel Museum Hannover
and around its original site, at Waldhausenstraße 5 in Hannover.

I performed this as a tribute to Schwitters on what would have been his 125th birthday on
June 20, 2012 at Oberdeck, Hannover. A recording of Im Merzbau is included on a 4-track CD-R by the same title, released by Analogpath on October 27, 2013.

GONE FOR WALKS (2011-2013)

Audio-visual installation consisting of pictures and sounds captured on walks in and around Langendorf, Germany during the year 2011. An urbanite’s romantic view on country life, weather and the seasons, agriculture and farm labor. Layers of music were improvised on top of the field recordings and edited into four tracks that serve as a soundtrack for nine photographic prints. A record containing these four tracks was released by Tessellate Recordings on August 28, 2013 in a limited run of 100 CD-Rs and sets of postcards showing four of the images. Gone For Walks was exhibited several times between 2014 and 2017.

Sound collage consisting of 21 song fragments from 11 releases by my band Home Of The Lame that existed from 1994 to 2012. The installation is housed in a vintage 8mm film projector case that served as an effects pedal box on every Home Of The Lame tour since 2004.
